Skills that became shops
Atuhaire Judith, 32, from Kyanja, did not have a job before she learned to weave baskets and other crafts. She now sells them to craft shops, and has since turned a small pork and nyama choma restaurant into an independent catering business with a team of her own.
Achali Carol, 26, joined our skilling programme and learned to bake. She now owns a shop selling samosas, chapati and cupcakes in Kireka, on Kamuli Road, and pays her children’s school fees from it.
