Born from resilience, built on hope
Elevate Her Uganda is a non-profit empowering women and girls in rural and urban communities through education, skills training, business support, and advocacy against gender-based violence.
Our story
A mother of sixteen, and a daughter who took note
The story of Elevate Her Uganda is rooted in the resilience of its Co-Founder and Executive Director, Loice Natukunda. Her mother, Evangeline Kamaruka, raised sixteen children. Despite unimaginable hardships she worked tirelessly to provide for her family, and taught Loice the value of hard work and of lifting others.
That legacy became the foundation of Elevate Her Uganda. Founded by Loice and a group of passionate women, the organisation answered a pressing need for education, economic independence and advocacy against gender-based violence.
Loice’s vision is to create opportunities for women to overcome challenges, break the cycle of poverty and lead empowered lives, with the same determination her mother showed.

Milestones
From a training room to a movement
First business trainings in Kampala
Women in Banda, Kyebando, Kyanja and Kireka train in business skills and receive capital to start or restock: maize, crafts, baking and poultry.
Backyard poultry in Ruhinda County
Training, feeders and drinkers for women farmers. The project reaches an 85% success rate and shifts how whole communities see women’s enterprise.
Official launch in Mitooma
At Ruhinda SS grounds, with Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa, Deputy Speaker of Parliament, as Guest of Honour, H.E. Frederiek Quispel, Ambassador of the Netherlands, and Hon. Jane Ruth Achieng, Minister for Health.
