Historical Launch of Elevate Her Uganda
On April 5th, Mitooma District wit- nessed a groundbreaking moment as Elevate Her Uganda was officially launched at Ruhinda SS grounds. The event drew prominent figures, including Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa, Deputy Speaker of Parliament, who graced the occasion as Guest of Honour.
H.E. Frederiek Quispel, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Netherlands to Uganda, and Hon. Jane Ruth Achieng, Minister for Health, added international and local flavor to the event.
Hon. Maj.Gen. (RTD) Kahinda Otafire, Minister for Internal Affairs and area Member of Par- liament, hosted the launch, flagging off the journey to empower women across Uganda.
The ceremony brought together community leaders, religious leaders, civil society orga- nizations, and the general public, all united in their quest for women’s empowerment. This milestone marks a new chapter in promoting gender equality and uplifting women in Uganda.
The launch presented a platform for women’s voices to be amplified, providing an oppor- tunity for them to share their experiences, challenges, and aspirations. By creating a space for dialogue and engagement, Elevate Her Uganda aims to address the unique needs and concerns of women, fostering a more inclusive and equitable society.
With Elevate Her Uganda now set in motion, the organization is poised to make a lasting impact on the lives of women and girls nationwide. Through its initiatives, Elevate Her Uganda seeks to empower women with the skills, knowledge, and resources necessary to thrive in their personal and professional lives.
As the organization embarks on this journey, it is clear that the collective efforts of stakehold- ers from various sectors will be crucial in driving meaningful change and promoting a brighter future for Ugandan women.
